Living with Aphasia was delighted to help out the Speech and Language Therapists with their Aphasia Awareness Training.
The ward staff at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital learnt more about the impact of aphasia on everyday life. Everyone had a chance to talk to our volunteers about their experiences. What a great opportunity to share and shape good practice.
We discussed some changes to make communication easier for people with aphasia. The feedback from volunteers and staff was very encouraging – and we hope to offer more of this joint working in the future!
