The weather is warm and many of us are spending more time outside. Gardening, for those who are lucky enough, has many mental and physical benefits and none more so than people with Aphasia, helping to create positive emotions.
Gardening engages all the senses and can help people rediscover their world. To achieve success and ultimately build confidence, boosting energy levels, creating a sense of purpose, using the weakened side in a subliminal way, as a source of therapy. Great exercise for the mind and body, helping to maintain and develop a new or existing skill set.
Gardening is an activity that relies on senses and skills other than language, while simultaneously reinforcing language skills, a new way to connect with the world!
“To plant a garden, is to believe in tomorrow!”
