What a cycling achievement! Thank you!
Chalk + Ward, a marketing/advertising agency in Exeter chose a energetic way to celebrate their 20th anniversary of trading. By cycling 90 miles in 7 hours!
Supported by the local group, the Bad Lodgers, they went from Bristol to Exeter raising money for 2 charities, Living with Aphasia and Magic Carpet.
The route started at the Colston Tower in Bristol where Chalk + Ward started their business and ended at Exeter where the company is now based. Their epic ride passed through the beautiful Cheddar Gorge. Maybe they didn’t get to see much of that as they whizzed through! They looked exhausted but very happy at the end! Well done!
Living with Aphasia is out and about again looking for volunteers!
We were at the Exeter University Volunteer Fair looking for helpers with all of our activities. It was fantastic to see Benita there – she was our volunteer last year for the Sing Aphasia group and her studies means that she can’t make this terms sessions. However, she was keen to help out at the fair and will hopefully be back next term. Thank you Benita!
It was great to recruit some more volunteers – especially as we are planning our 1st anniversary event on May 1st down at the Quayside. A sponsored walk so watch this space!
Always happy to hear from new helpers!
Everyone in families are touched by aphasia – if you live with someone who has aphasia come along to our NEW Coffee Catch Up in Exeter for those that live with someone with the language difficulty.
Time to meet others who understand about living with the condition. Share experiences, laughter and ideas with others who just “get it”.
Pop along to the Samuel Jones pub opposite the X Centre on the first Tuesday of the month from 2-3pm. It’s the same time as the Drop in group. Our first one will be on the 9th January 2018. Have a coffee and chat – start the New Year afresh and take a break!
Take a look at our page for friends and families too.
Time to get baking! Living with Aphasia is holding it’s annual cake stall on Saturday August 5th. There will be lots of lovely cakes and yummy goodies to buy. Plus Sandhy’s notorious wine bottle raffle and plant sale too.
We will be down at Bar Venezia at the Exeter quayside, near the grass area from 10am -2pm.
We are very happy to accept donations of cakes and biscuits, or plants for our stall.
Last year we had a great time and also raised over £800 so let’s see if we can top that this year!
